An Iconic Voice. A Bigger Stage.
What began as an organic partnership between our podcast, Out Loud & Laughing, and OUT Magazine grew into a broader creative opportunity. Together, we saw potential to make more of OUT’s content library through YouTube: helping people discover its stories, explore its programming, and find a reason to keep watching.
I developed a visual language that connected the channel’s programming while giving each series its own personality. The work included playlist and thumbnail templates, channel banners timed to the magazine’s publication cycle, and digital and social video promotions. I also created Out Rewind, a new programming identity designed to bring archival interviews and memorable moments back into view. As the partnership expanded to include sister brands and additional programming, the system gave that growing library a more cohesive home.

A Partnership Built on Possibility
Through Out Loud & Laughing, we built a relationship with OUT around a shared commitment to LGBTQIA+ stories and visibility. That relationship opened the door to a larger conversation about how the channel could connect audiences with more of the work already in its library.
I approached the opportunity as both a creator and a designer, considering how someone might arrive through one interview and discover an entire series. Playlists, recognizable thumbnails, and coordinated end screens became parts of that journey, designed to make the channel easier to explore and its programming easier to recognize.
Looking Back. Moving OUT Forward.
OUT’s archive holds conversations and cultural moments that deserve an audience beyond their original release. I created Out Rewind to give that material a recognizable programming identity, developing a new logo and a flexible thumbnail system around the people and stories featured.
Bold typography, expressive backgrounds, and consistent framing brought the collection together while leaving room for each subject’s personality. The intention was to introduce these stories to new viewers and give returning audiences a fresh reason to revisit them, carrying OUT’s editorial legacy forward.
An Editorial Eye Across Every Format
I extended the magazine’s visual presence into channel banners aligned with each new issue, distinct playlist treatments, and promotional videos for digital and social. Cover stories became a recurring connection between the print publication and the channel, keeping the experience current while making space for OUT’s wider family of brands and programming.
Working with premium editorial photography and talent-led video required thoughtful adaptation. I shaped crops, pacing, typography, and motion around the original material, preserving its character and production quality while making it work across formats. Every piece needed to feel engaging on its own and recognizably part of OUT.
